Music

Jack Drum Arts is a sustainable, locally-based social enterprise providing arts and wellbeing opportunities for the people of County Durham. Provision takes place from our community centre in Crook and via a year round programme of workshops, courses, live theatre, music events and large-scale outdoor carnival parades working in collaboration with members of our community.

Our mission is to increase access to quality arts for people of all ages, particularly those who are disadvantaged or vulnerable, through high-quality, engaging, innovative and fun arts opportunities that improve the mental health and emotional resilience of all those we work with, tackling isolation and loneliness, building skills and confidence, whilst supporting individuals to make a positive contribution to community cohesion.

Over the past 3 decades, the company has worked with, and changed the lives, of thousands of people. Participants are able to access a varied programme of arts and wellbeing activities including singing, songwriting, drumming, ukulele, dance, carnival arts, pottery and ceramics, filmmaking and social leadership training.

Jack Drum Arts are passionate about inspiring people to grow and achieve through the discovery of the arts, committed to nurturing talent, skills and knowledge, helping to make our communities better places to live and work.
