Sound Out! is a legacy project following on from our previous Sound Out! Program of high-quality musical participation courses for female carers in County Durham.

Now expanded to include male and female carers, The project aims to reduce loneliness and isolation, and improve the wellbeing of participants through achievement, community-building, and skills development.

Courses on offer include Drumming and Mindfullness, New Mum’s Music-Making, New Dad’s Music Making, Community Singing, Ukulele for Beginners and Song Writing, with performance, training, and cultural trips for all involved. Additional support and activities for the cared for are available.

Activities take place at venues all over the County, delivered by Jack Drum Arts creative team, professional musicians and world-class guest artists, including Cat Myers, Sam Slatcher, Beccy Owen, Sinead Livingston, and more.
