Sing to Beat operate a national programme of singing groups for people with Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions. We also run groups for people with Long Covid. We have established a dynamic, high energy approach, and all of our groups are inclusive – volunteers, carers and family members are also welcome. No previous singing experience or ability is required to participate.
The groups meet for 60-90 minutes of singing, laughter and movement and are a mental, spiritual, psychological, social and physical singing workout that has proven to have had a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of those that take part. Our strapline is ‘caring through singing’ and we place strong emphasis on community, laughter, sharing and caring for each other. Our groups were first established in 2010, and are based on evidence from research into the positive impact that singing has on wellbeing and quality of life.
